Blog
Reagan Arthur Books is an imprint with a simple, single focus: great writing in the service of great stories. It will be a home for writers of literary novels, adventures, memoir, true narrative—a place where books aren’t separated by genre, but bound by a common love of language and storytelling. The authors on our list are some of the most talented and original writers at work today, from critically acclaimed and award-winning bestsellers to fresh-out-of-the-gate, dazzling newcomers. Our goal is to give readers what they want most: the unique and lasting pleasure of sitting alone with a good book, being moved and entertained and even changed forever.
Reagan Arthur
VP, Editorial Director
Reagan Arthur is Vice President and Editorial Director of Reagan Arthur Books, an imprint of Little, Brown. She began her publishing career at St. Martin’s Press, and also worked for Picador USA. Writers she has worked with since arriving at Little, Brown include Kate Atkinson, Kate Braestrup, Tony Earley, Joshua Ferris, Elin Hilderbrand, Elizabeth Kostova, Denise Mina, George Pelecanos, Josh Bazell, Kathleen Kent, and Joanna Scott. She lives in New Jersey with her husband, children’s book author and illustrator Scott Beck, and their two children. When not reading, she is struggling to achieve competency in tennis, yoga, and knitting. Results so far are not encouraging. Follow Reagan Arthur on Twitter . Marlena Bittner
Assistant Director of Publicity
Marlena Bittner started her career in publicity at Little, Brown in 2001, after graduating from New York University. Since then she’s worked with a varied list of authors which has included David Foster Wallace, David Sedaris, Gail Collins, sportswriter John Feinstein, Dan Simmons, George Pelecanos, and Joshua Ferris. In her spare time she enjoys bickering with her loved ones, geeky television shows that are immediately cancelled, and failing to beat Reagan at Scramble. Follow Marlena Bittner on Twitter .
Laura Tisdel
Editor
Before joining Reagan Arthur Books as Editor, Laura Tisdel worked at Viking Penguin first as a publicist and then in editorial where she is proud to have published many authors she admires including Lev Grossman, Garrison Keillor, Koren Zailckas, Ron Currie, Jr., and Beth Powning. She hails from the great state of Michigan, and attended Michigan State University where she studied early childhood development, English, poetry, Spanish, and small batch micro-brewed beers. In her free time she enjoys color-coding, alphabetizing, running, and crafts (classy ones like knitting and quilting). She encourages you to follow her on Twitter .
Sarah Murphy
Editorial Assistant
Sarah Murphy graduated from Harvard University in 2006 and had the great fortune of joining Little, Brown in 2008 after two years in public relations. Labeled a “joiner” by Marlena, Sarah is co-captain of the company volleyball team, swings the bat for the company softball team, volunteers with New York Cares, and once let the CEO and COO of Hachette Book Group beat her in a game of pool (just barely).
